Ahhh, a wedding on the beach. What a beautiful thing! Even though, to be honest, it was windy and freezing that day! :) But what a beautiful day it was! This wedding is extra special to me because the bride and groom are dear friends of ours (my fiance was the best man, and an honorary Roberson). I also had lots of fun taking their engagement photos!
They did this one right, they rented a huge – I mean huge – gorgeous beach house in Sandbridge for the entire week where everyone got to spend some super fun quality time together as these two families became one. James and Amanda are such a good match, they compliment each other perfectly and I wish nothing but true happiness and love for them!
We got a few minutes of that perfect sunlight coming in from the side of the house. Gorgeous!
As her dad mentioned in his speech, to know Amanda is to know her mom. These two are super close! It’s such a wonderful relationship, which I’m so lucky to have as well. There were tears of happiness for days! I love these moments they shared just before the wedding. And her maid of honor as well, so sweet!
Nothing better than black and white in front of a big window! :)
I’m pretty impressed with how James got into posing for the camera!
I had a lot of fun shooting the details. She is a big Harry Potter fan, so we had to use this chapter of the book!
The peacock theme really translated well with these flowers. Beautiful!
I’m not sure why, but I almost teared up shooting the girls together on the bed before getting dressed. You could really feel the love and support in the room!
Men doing manly things :)
The BEST dress lacing shot EVER!
Another thing that made this wedding so special was all of the personal touches. That’s a good friend and amazing cellist playing before the ceremony.
I also can’t look at these two photos without tearing up! So perfect.
And they actually “tied the knot” and really got into it too!
This is a good example of their personalities. Flowers vs. swords! Who do you think wins?
Boys are ridiculous. Every shot was ‘pose and smile’ then ‘tackle to the ground’!
Girls on the other hand, know how to pose and look cute!
So so sweet!
I actually have an entire series of the photos below. Funny story. There is a southern tradition where you bury a bottle of whiskey a month before a wedding to prevent bad weather. Then you dig it up the morning of the wedding. Well, lesson learned here. Don’t do this in a sand dune. You will never find it! As the girls were getting ready these poor boys spent probably near an hour digging and digging. And never did find it! My theory is someone had a happy day at the beach when than ran across it… But I guess it still half worked, it was sunny and beautiful, but it sure was chilly out!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Roberson!!! It was so much fun!
