King Family 5 Years Later! | RVA Photographer

Five years ago, I photographed this sweet family. Mom had just gotten a job out of state, and they wanted to commemorate their time in Richmond and celebrate their daughter’s 1st birthday. They told me what they love about RVA is the mix or urban and nature, especially the murals. Richmond has an amazing collection of them! They are one of my absolute favorite things about the city as well.

Cut to 2020 and she contacts me (I was so excited! I love hearing from past clients) letting me know they are planning a visit to Richmond for the FIRST time since they left years ago. They wanted a similar photo shoot, now with their 2 kids. And we thought it would be fun to recreate some of their favorite images, seen below!

We also wanted to use one of the murals we featured as a backdrop before. I was bummed to find out the big cat mural has since been painted over (so sad!!) So I started my research for the perfect new murals and locations for their next shoot.

We went back and forth with a few options and came up with these. Really, anything would have been great! This was a mini session, so about 20 minutes, and I wanted to give them the best bang for their buck. I found three good ones, just a block apart. Perfect!

It was so wonderful to see them again and give them some new Richmond memories to take back with them 🙂
