Dappled morning light and a nice breeze make for a great start to a photo session!

After taking adorable photos of Sophia, we decided couldn’t leave out her older brother! Everything has to be fair with siblings, right? At least that’s how it always was when I was a kid. 🙂

We wanted this one to be a quick and simple shoot, since he is a bit older, and surprisingly very willing to sit for his photo to be taken – I was very impressed! So we met in the morning at Rockwood Park in Chesterfield, found a great area with a bench and gazebo, surrounded by that beautiful dappled sunlight which I love. He may have been the most pleasant kid I’ve shot with so far. This little man knew how to look deep into the camera and was quiet and polite, such a gentleman!

This is a great example of how you don’t always need 1 or 2 hours to get good images. Of course long photo shoots can be super fun and more creative, but sometimes you just want to keep it simple. We spent just about 30 minutes shooting. This is also a good tip when dealing with kids. Most of the time they cannot sit for more than 10 minutes, especially when they are younger. So get them in, get them out and have fun with it!
